Microsoft Devices has just announced that the Nokia Lumia 930 is now officially available in Malaysia. The device was first announced nearly 3 months ago at Microsoft Build that was held in the US.
The Lumia 930 is a 5” smartphone with a Full HD OLED display. The device runs Windows Phone 8.1 and is powered by a 2.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor. The device also comes with a 2420 mAh battery which can be charged using the integrated Qi compatible wireless charging technology. All these sound decent but as we all know, the main selling point of a Lumia is of course its imaging prowess. The 930 is no exception as it packs a 20MP PureView camera that comes complete with OIS and ZEISS lenses. This should be more than enough to get most of the other mobile device companies back to their drawing boards.
The device comes with 2 GB RAM, 32 GB of onboard memory and 7 GB of OneDrive cloud storage (which should be upgraded to 15 GB sometime next month). These should be enough to keep all your images, videos and cinemagraphs but its a shame that the phone doesn’t come with a slot for expandable storage. Other features include display mirroring with the help of Miracast, has Dolby Digital Plus for audio and SensorCore for activity tracking.

Microsoft also had the Nokia Treasure Tag on display this time around. A blue coloured tag will be bundled with Lumia 930 with the pre-order that starts today. The tag only works with a few Lumia devices for now and it requires an app to access the features. The tag is not sold separately as yet but Microsoft has plans to announce the pricing later and also to introduces more colours.
The Nokia Lumia 930 will be available next week and has an RRP of RM1,999. For now, you can head on down to Plaza Low Yat and pre-register a unit at its roadshow or any of the 18 participating Noki Stores. The pre-registration starts today, 30th June, until the 6th of July 2014 and you could get your phone bundled with a Nokia Treasure Tag, a 4,400 mAh power bank as well as a flip cover that are worth RM330 in total. The Lumia 930 will be available in Orange, Green, Black and White colours and will be first sold in the Klang Valley. The device will be rolled out to other parts of the country thereafter.
